Cleo Luna June
ABOUT
Cleo Luna June (she/her/hers) is a Canadian contemporary multidisciplinary performance maker driven by the cyclical nature of resurrecting and alchemizing your poison. She explores the feminine experience, love, identity, storytelling and spirituality. Her practice includes music, performance art, installation works, film, writing, and conceptual art. Impressively, she released her first solo album, Jeannie’s Garden (2022), followed by an EP, Pondering Days at the Pond, and singles such as Star Sister, Champagne Aura, Sunbleached Flowers, and Resurrection and a small file-inspired music video for Sunbleached Flowers respectively. She is a student in the School of Contemporary Arts at Simon Fraser University.
For Cleo, her music and art are not just professional endeavours but also vital tools for managing her mental illnesses. Her creative process allows her to channel her emotions and find meaning in her life. Writing songs, performing, and creating art become ways for Cleo to explore and express her inner world. Through her art, Cleo plays the role of the shapeshifter, the creator, the muse, the lover, the heroine, and the villain in her artistic universe; each of her works snapshots a particular memory or feeling she wants to immortalize.
