I am Cleo Luna June. I am a versatile Canadian interdisciplinary artist. I am a singer, songwriter, performance artist, actor, poet, producer, stylist, creative director, makeup artist, model, and person behind and in front of the camera. Although I work in a myriad of disciplines, my home is in music, genres spanning rock, pop, folk, blues, R&B, post-punk, and Motown. I play numerous instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, keys, and more. I am a cinematic, confessional songwriter and a showwoman performer, building worlds in my art. The throughline across all mediums is the exploration of love, intimacy, sexuality, the feminine experience, and existentialism. I am always in a state of creation, whether it is scribing lyrics and lines of poetry in a notebook throughout the day or in the studio devising performances, or at an off-site location for a specific project. In my solo work, I intend to make art to cement my personal mythology.

“Beautiful and Damned” By Cleo Luna June is an interdisciplinary performance art show combining music, theatre, and striptease, exploring the damaging effects of romantic relationships and the tragedy of being a beautiful young woman. Driven by the question of, “what are all the ways you can destroy your heart?” and Cleo’s personal statement, “In a world where we’ve commodified almost everything, true love is the one thing money can’t touch.” This show sits in the tension of self-destruction and the inevitable endings that come with all decisions, yet having the courage to persist. Devised with a female lens, sexuality is an innate part of the performance, challenging objectification, consumption, gaze, and empowerment.
